Check out 3 Pipe Organs @ Sydney University!
Every year or two, the Organ Music Society has a mega-celebration of the pipe organ with a series of events. In 2024, this will start with a cluster event to visit 3 pipe organs within University of Sydney...
Sunday 7th July 2024 - we will visit the Sydney University Great Hall (3.45pm), Wesley College (5pm) and St Paul's College (6.10pm). Each organ will involve a demonstration, then anyone who's musical can have a go on the organ or just listen and admire the surroundings. Personally, I have played the Sydney University Great Hall organ but not the others.
The cost of entry is $15 per person.

Let's play casual soccer at Ador Avenue (Rockdale) Reserve; temporary location away from Tempe Reserve as I have been advised that Marrickville FC is playing trial games at Tempe most Sunday afternoons until 5pm. Rockdale has several good synthetic grass pitches. Meet at the long benches along the side, if that is also used for a trial game until past 4.30pm (ask them when they stop if they are playing), we cross the bridge behind the toilets to the other ground McCarthy Reserve. It will be going down south from Brighton-Le-Sands, and be a peaceful flat amble along the foreshore of Botany Bay. Organ concert: Young Organists' Day 2019 (free)
This is the annual Young Organists' Day concert which I do as a meetup every year. The concert features some of the finest organ talent in Sydney. With loads of classical pieces, many of the pieces of which are spectacular, it's a free concert that usually gets ~500 people and 10-20 people from meetup every year.Meet at the middle of the Sydney Town Hall Steps on the last Saturday of the year at 12.15pm, then we go in to the Sydney Town Hall as a group at 12.20pm LATEST. I capitalise latest in that we can only get some reasonable seats together if we go in at 12.20pm or before. The actual concert event starts at 12.30pm.

Christmas Day Gathering @ Kogarah!
We with our meetups like every year will be celebrating the joy of Christmas this Christmas Day at Kirkplace Kogarah. This English gathering goes from 9.30am to about 10.45am with snacks / refreshments afterwards. It's run by my relatively small, close-knit, loving and mainstream evangelical church Kirkplace Kogarah at their main hub (12-16 Derby Street, Kogarah).We know it can be hard visiting somewhere new. Many of you wouldn't have heard what an organ ramble is, unless you were on one of my three core groups back in the day. (As I haven't organised one such thing on meetup in years!) An organ ramble basically involves going to a place or several places with the organ instrument i.e. classical music. First walk of 2019 - The Bay Run!
Putting together a fantastic walk on The Bay Run with several groups and Downtomeet, having done this nice one 2.5yrs ago. The Bay Run is a very popular harbourside walk that never deviates more than 20m from the water. The 7.5km-ish walk is on a flat, well-maintained track that is also pram & dog friendly, with lanes for walkers clearly marked where possible. This will take in the sights of Iron Cove including Rodd Point, Rodd Island, Drummoyne Shoreline, an iron bridge and King George / Leichhardt Parks.

For the October long weekend - and my birthday :) - our combined social groups are going to a hot new rooftop bar in Barangaroo called 'Untied'. Untied is not just another rooftop. Rose Bay to Watsons Bay Walk!
The Rose Bay to Watsons Bay walk is one of the most scenic coastal walking trails in Sydney. The walk brings you to secluded beaches, beautiful parks and picturesque bays, while enjoying panoramic views of the city and the harbour. Some of the highlights of this trail are Milk Beach, Parsley Bay and Nielsen Park. It will go for about 2 hours - after which we'll have an optional lunch and bus it back to the starting position.

It's been a long while since I've organised a bigger dinner/drinks night in the city (since Christmas last year in fact)!!! So it's time to put one on.
