Hugh Lloyd's Pulpit lies in the gorge just south of LlanFfestiniog. The column of rock forms part of the lower of two waterfalls on the River Cynfal.
This beautiful site is known for the legend which suggests that Hugh Lloyd of Cynfal Fawr, a 17th century poet, astrologer and magician, used to visit this spot to deliver incantations, lead prayers for local villagers and to expel devils and evil spirits.
We will meet outside the Pengwern in Llanffestiniog, and walk down the track through the fields into the gorge.
