Fort Erie Ukes (FEU), established in 2021, are a group of ukulele players and enthusiasts meeting every other Thursday in the Fort Erie area of Southern Ontario.
All skill levels are welcome to attend. We typically play 16 - 18 songs from our library and sprinkle in any open mics you may be working on.
Mask wearing is a personal decision and we respect your choice.
Throw a few $$ in the hat if you can. Tips are good Karma.

Hey Everybody!!! Couple of new songs this week, both are really easy to play with just 3 chords each....and REALLY fun to sing.
"Paradise" by John Prine was open mic'd by Kent last session and I love it.....I think you will too.
"Hotel Yorba" by the White Stripes. Woohoo this one was actually recorded at 195 beats per minute but we'll slow it down to around 180 to make it a bit easier. Lots of fun on this one.

Hey Everybody!!! I've decided to head back to the Crystal Ridge Library for our sessions. No more worrying about the weather or fighting the wind up there. We'll be safe and sound at the library.
Couple of new songs for this session. "The Night Pat Murphy Died" is an old Newfoundland tune recently made popular again by Great Big Sea. And "We Are the People" one of my fave Jimmy Buffett songs with lyrics that ring true for many generations and some of his most clever lyrics. Here's a couple of Youtube links....

Couple of new songs for this session. "When the Saints Go Marching In" is an old traditional song made famous in the '30's by Louis Armstrong. And "Last Kiss" you may not recognize by the name but I'm pretty sure you all know the tune. Here's a couple of Youtube link....

Hey Everybody!! I've been sitting out on the deck, playing my uke, enjoying the garden and flowers (my husband is the gardener...not me) so life is good here. Hope you're enjoying what you enjoy the most too!!
Couple of new songs this time that everyone knows. "Piano Man" has become Billy Joel's signature song...fair warning...it runs a tad long, lol. And "End of the Line" is one of The Travelling Wilbury's fun songs thats great to sing along with. Find them on Youtube, I'm sure you all know both songs.

Couple of my favourite songs for our next session. "Cat's in the Cradle" which I'm sure everyone knows was Harry Chapin's biggest hit. One of those songs with a message!! The second song is "Why Worry" by Dire Straits...I love this one. I wasn't able to find the tabs for that great intro, but the chords work pretty good. Here's a Youtube link.....

Hard to believe we started this little group way back in April 2021....we're going into our 4th year. Well, time does fly.
I think you'll like this set list and the couple of new songs. "18 Holes" is a spoof written by John Denver and based on Tennessee Ernie Ford's 16 tons. Since we'll be playing at the golf course.....I thought a fun golf song would be a good idea. Thanks for the idea Colin!!

The second is the wonderful 'Turn, Turn, Turn' originally by Pete Seger in the 50's but The Byrds had a major hit with it in 1965.

It's a fun Newfoundland song called Black Rum and Blueberry Pie that many have covered. Here's a link to a version by Anne Murray. It's been recorded by everyone under the sun, most famously by Anna Kendrick for the movie Pitch Perfect. Hey Everybody!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Well the new year seems to be "in like a lamb"....we'll see what happens from there! My Christmas was fabulous and I hope everyone was able to celebrate in your favourite way.
No new tunes for this session. I've just plain run out of time to get any together. So....it's an all 60's set this time around. Gosh there's so many great tunes in that decade.

Hey Everybody!!Please be sure to RSVP to this event as soon as you can so I know how many to expect.
It's our annual Christmas party/jam/shindig and food drive for the Fort Erie Food Bank (COPE). Hope everyone can make it. We'll have some finger foods, munchies and refreshments to enjoy. No need for you to bring anything other than what you can contribute to the Food Bank. We'll take an hour or so to eat, socialize and catch up on everyone's holiday plans then play our usual 17-18 songs with your fabulous open mic tunes sprinkled in.

Good news everyone. I've persuaded Fort Erie Golf Club that they need a little ukulele action every few weeks. We can play on their patio or move into the clubhouse if it gets too hot or rainy. Their bar is now open and they have a limited dinner menu....burgers, wings, sandwiches, etc. You could even book a pre-jam tee time...why not!!!??? FE Golf is a short executive course and you can easily get around 9 holes in an hour and a half....allow 3 1/2 hours for 18. Our jam will start at 6 pm.Here's a link to our Set List and Song Sheets. There's a few new tunes and some revised versions of tunes you know.
