This is the Bank Holiday weekend and so we'll make an early start and also take a slightly obscure route to this popular scenic location near Dolgellau, high above the Mawddach Estuary.
The 4.5-5 mile walk is all on steady firm ground, forestry and moorland paths. The ascents and descents are all firm, slow and steady.
There are several streams for water and we also pass by a lake on the edge of the woodland.
Please bring a drink and a snack as we will encounter several good places to stop, rest and refresh.
