Maxson trailhead Unnamed Road Shaver Lake, CA, 93664 From Shaver Lake turn on Dinkey Creek Rd, drive to Dinkey Creek, turn right onto McKinley Grove Rd, drive to the next fork and turn left to Courtright Reservoir. At the lake, turn right to drive around across the dam, then onward to the end of the road at the trailhead. Road is paved.

Six day trip - moderate level of difficulty

This is intended to be planned but flexible - meaning we can be lazy or ambitious as we like. Fishing, swimming, lounging in the sun and easier hiking days. The second day has significant elevation gain, 8200 to 9900 feet. The others are mixed gains/losses, not all with backpack.

Rough Itinerary

Day 1 - 7 miles to Post Corral

Day 2 - 5 miles to Rae Lake

Day 3 - day hike to Upper Indian Lake (~6 miles) then move camp to Disappointment Lake (2.3 miles)
