Plan is to meet at the Summit Ranger Station and pick permits on 6/17. Then we can caravan to the parking lot at the Kennedy Meadows Resort and start our hike [Note - Parking lot is not at the TH and there is a short walk from the parking lot to the TH].
Day 1 - hike to Kennedy Lake from TH. ~8 miles with roughly 2200 ft of ascent. When I did this trip in 2017, we strumbled upon a great camp site about 4.5 mile from the lake and decided to camp there. This had a nice fire ring and Kennedy Creek was nearby. There is a possibility to camp there. This camp will be roughly 4 and half miles from TH with about 1650 ft of uphill.

Sonora Pass is now as this week which is great! Even though we don't need to go over the pass but good to know that the entire area is accessible now. Let's meet at the Summit Ranger Station (1 Pinecrest Lake Rd, Pinecrest, CA 95364) at 10 AM as our hike is only under 4 miles to the camp with about 1200 ft of uphill; we don't need to start super early.
After obtaining permits, we will caravan to the TH. Please plan to arrive 15 min early to ensure to not arrive late. I am not sure about the cell service at the ranger station, please don't be late.

If this link does not work, use the NOAA website and enter Kennedy Lake, CA in the search window.
Mosquitos might be in full force, please bring mosquito headnets, deet etc.
Snow - There will be snow on the trail to KL (day hike on Sunday). Based on what i have seen in May 2017, it should be piles of snow in the forested areas. We did fine without micro spikes in 2017 and I am not planning bring but please make your decision base don your own comfort level.
Creeks - Major creeks have foot bridges but there might be other smaller creeks to cross. Please bring couple of pairs of extra socks just in case.
